Back in high school, I received the "Excellence in English" award from my teachers and the "Most Likely to Win the Pulitzer Prize" nomination from my fellow students. While I haven't achieved that YET, I still read and write almost every day.
By attending writing conferences, I've learned from some of the most talented and popular authors today. The knowledge I've gained has given me insights into the creative writing process as well as the ability to deeply analyze books. I share these insights with my students and enjoy engaging in interactive discussions about the books they are assigned.
I'm passionate about grammar, punctuation, spelling, and vocabulary. In fact, I believe the best way to grow vocabulary is through READING. Hopefully, soon, my students will be reading one of MY books!
I'm also passionate about family, friends, animals (especially my dog Honey), music, and travel.
