Here's an overview of the 3 part process:
PRICING: $900 for individual tutoring from start to finish, no matter how long the process takes. I kindly request up front payment to enable me to focus on helping your student.
I accept payment through VENMO, Zelle, or cash.
Presently, sessions are conducted virtually through a combination of Zoom and Google Docs. Meeting virtually works better than in person for me as well as for my students: we're still able to interact one-on-one, don't need to drive anywhere or print anything out, and can make changes and comments live. When students share drafts prior to our weekly sessions, I'm able to read through and make comments and suggestions in advance, which makes our sessions more productive. In contrast, when meeting in person, we rely on printed drafts and hand-written notes.

- It's a 400-650 word personal narrative that reflects your experiences, passions, and perspectives. This is considered an informal essay: "I" and contractions are expected but swear words are not! Overall, the college essay is unlike the typical high essay in every way.
- Your best topic is rarely the one you, your family, or friends think of first. But rest assured, everyone has a story or two worth telling.
- It can be quiet or exciting, but your college essay must have a point. The point showcases personal growth from a specific experience or highlights the development of a passion. To show personal growth, you have to reveal your flaws.
- It is NOT a travelogue or a place to brag about your achievements. There's no straightforward answer about sharing ongoing challenges. We will discuss each one and determine how or if to integrate them.

- THE INTRODUCTORY MEETING is a 1-hour session, conducted in person or via zoom, where I meet with the student and a parent so we can introduce ourselves, discuss the process, and establish a schedule. Importantly, this also gives you the opportunity to ask questions and allows me to discuss my proprietary topic brainstorming questionnaire.
- TOPIC DISCOVERY is a 2-hour, intense working session to determine the topic that will showcase your strongest attributes.
- DRAFT REVIEWS are weekly sessions where the student and I discuss each draft openly and honestly. As every writer knows, writing your best work is a process requiring time, effort, and dedication. Expect to write between 5 and 8 different drafts before achieving your submission-ready final draft. I ask that you wait until the essay is finished to share with your family and friends, unless their input is required earlier.
